Bee-eaters


The bee-eaters are a collection of near passerine birds in the family unit Meropidae. a large amount types are found in Africa except  others occur in southern Europe, Madagascar, Australia and New Guinea. They are characterised by opulently colored plumage, slim bodies and generally stretched out middle tail feathers. All are bright and have long downturned bills and pointed wings, which provide them a swallow-like look when seen from far away. There are 26 types worldwide and 4 types which occur in Bangladesh.
